The Sylvia is a 65 feet long tugboat that rests on the ocean floor in eighty feet of water just nine miles south of Pensacola Pass. It has been placed here in 1990 by the Escambia County Artificial Reef program. They mention that the pilot house and its upper deck have been gone since 2002.
The Sylvia sits upright and attracts large amounts of pelagic and reef fish such as jacks, snappers, groupers and trigger fish. In the sand next to the wreck you will often find starfish, sting rays and many shells. Enjoy diving at this simple but entertaining dive site.
