One of the easier accessed dive regions are St Petersburg Beach Reef or St Pete Beach Reef. It is reachable at only five miles from the Pass-A-Grille entry Marker #2. It was formed when large concrete blocks from the Old Corey Causeway and Skyway Bridge were dumped here in 1976. Other sights here are a 200 feet long steel barge since 1984 and ten United States Army tanks that lay here since 1995, easily found by the yellow marker buoy. It is a dive site which is not only attractive for diving but also for fishing, in especially for spear fishermen.

Getting certified to dive is easy. There's a lot of shops around here that have pools that offer classes. Personally, I would reccomend the shop Mac's Sports in Clearwater. I was certifed there & they'res a great bunch of people that work there.

All I want is to learn how to dive. I grew up 5 minutes from the sea and it was always my interest. Can you help me out? I live in the Clearwater, Largo, Tampa area.
As soon as shops have been listed at the requested section you will be able to see which shops offer what kind of dive tours.
