We certified last year with Captain Hook's Dive Center and Marina while on the coral-bottoms of Coffin Patch. The water was pristine and visibility was easily beyond 150 feet! There was a diversity of sea-life ranging from the typical brain-corals to a large sting ray our Dive Master "Dave" was able to get off the sea-bed and flutter his "wings" for us. There were plenty of species of fish along with anemones and even lobster to keep one and all enthralled! rrOf course we did see the remains of the Civil War-era barge which sank with all the coffins that were to be delivered to Key West back then. Naturally, mother nature has taken its course and what remains is a flourishing underwater habitat in less than 35-feet of ocean. Along with its sister dive-site referred to as "The Stake"; this area of water is excellent not only for SCUBA, but skin divers as well due to the abundance of sea-life as well as the ranging in depth from 12 to 35 feet!
