The MV Becks is a 167 foot long Dutch freighter which was scuttled on October 22, 1996. She was renamed to Captain Tony or Tony's Town in memory of a local dive charter captain named Tony Townsend. He died just before Thanksgiving 1996 when a drunken boat driver ran over his fishing boat. The wreck sits upright, bow facing south in eighty feet of water with its forward mast rising to 45 feet below the surface. She can often be spotted from the surface and makes a perfect dive. There are several places where divers can safely enter the wreck in search of special cargo rooms or some large schools of hiding jewfish. Be careful as the engine room is a common place to get trapped.
