The Dredge Barge Avocet is a 2640 ton, 247 feet long, intact clam shell dredge was built in 1943 and is one of the best dives off Pensacola. She lies in 118 fsw and has a relief of 68 feet. It was sunk as an artificial reef in 1991 and is an awesome dive.

The avocet is an excellent wreck for seeing marine life. Almost anyday you'll see 50 or more barracubas hanging on the top. The wreck is intact and offers good photo opportunities for our divers.
