The Rio Miami is a 105-foot tugboat which sank on the 28th of November 1989. It was one of the first wrecks which was used in documentary material on the creating of artificial reefs. ABC's 20/20 television show, which is an American newsmagazine broadcast show, had the honour to film its explosive scuttling and added a lot to the popularity of this dive site.

She is one of the many ships which was completely relocated because of hurricane Andrew in 1992. Nowadays she is still located upright with cabins and ladders reachable at only 30 feet from the surface. Aquatic life such as barracuda and several types of coral and colourful sponges have inhabited this wreck and create opportunities for the best wide angle and scenic photographs.
