Diving at a Honduran freighter named Conception which has the honour to be one of the most expensive wrecks scuttled near Miami.

The Conception ran aground in June 1991 after its anchor broke and heavy storms drifted her to the shores of South Beach, Miami. After high costs cleaning the beach and salvaging the wreck the US Government decided to sell the wreck at public auction. It was Dade County Artificial Reef Program who finally bought the ship and continued preparing it for its last resting place in the Sunny Isles Reef Site. This 150 foot long Honduran freighter finally went to the ocean floor on June 7, 1991.
The Conception is a wreck dive site sitting upright consisting out of two parts; its stern and bow section separated by forty feet. If you go here to see numerous species of marine life you should try to visit early in the morning or late in the afternoon. Enjoy this
