Blue Grotto is one of the largest sinkholes in Florida, a must for cave, cavern and spring enthusiasts.

Blue Grotto is one of the best spring diving locations in Florida. It is a massive sinkhole that reaches depths of one hundred feet making it one of the deepest sinkholes in Florida. She is located just west of Williston at less than a mile from Devil's Den. At the tourist shop you can rent all equipment necessary for diving including nitrox air refills. You can watch caving underwater video's, there are picnic tables, restrooms and hot showers.

Once in the water you will see two training platforms that are filled with small fish waiting for you. There are many underwater safety lights and a large air bell sits at the cavern's ceiling at thirty feet deep. There is a lime stone rock named Peace Rock because of its peace sign at fifty feet. A bit further you can decide to go down to the bottom of the spring where visibilities can be less than five feet. There are large amounts of leafy debris which can easily be stirred up because of uncontrolled fin movement. You also need a light here to follow the line that goes down all the way to one hundred feet. We advice you to stay inside the large cavern and enjoy its walls full of shells fossils.
