Diving at the many spring dive sites around a city named High Springs

High Springs city obviously got its name because of the many springs that are located nearby. The best time to visit this central Florida region are the dryer summer months as visibilities in the rivers are at its highest then. Many of the springs are very popular with swimmers and tubers as well.

Divers sometimes participate in a drift dive along the Santa Fe River. It is possible to drift the nearly one mile from Ginnie Springs to the Devil's Spring System, seeing fossils and other mammals on the way. A dive flag is required because of the many boats that can pass above you.
