Toppino's Reef has some rare collection of perfect coral fingers rising up from the ocean floor.

Toppino's Reef or Toppino's Buoy at five miles south of Key West is famous for its brilliant eight to ten foot high coral fingers rising from the bottom. All the marine life congregates in between these small pinnacles nibbling and eating off the hard and soft corals. Green turtles, spotted butterfly fish and red mouthed grunts are frequent visitors. In its early years this reef was known as Marker Reef #1 after its navigational marker numbered 1, while nowadays she is classified with the number 31 hence its other name Marker Reef #31. It is a popular shallow night dive as well with three mooring buoys and a light for boats that make it easy to find it.
