The M/V Castor is a 258 feet long Shelterdeck Coaster originally designed as a timber cargo transport vessel which was finished in 1970 in the Netherlands. She transported goods in the seas of Europe until 1988. Then she continued her services between the United States, Mexico, Colombia and Aruba, until she finally got caught for heroine smuggling. US Custom searched the ship and found over ten thousands pounds of cocaine hidden in containers full of sugar. Names such as M/V Dorothee Bos, M/V Mer Star, M/V Ann Mary, Irma, Gulf Viking, Tropic, Carib Star and Allegro Sea have also been given to the same boat. It is a great dive site which is often used as training dive for technical divers.
