Diving at Texas Rock is diving at several peaks and mini seamounts that have made Tortugas National Park famous. The gradually descending slopes with its predictable groove coral formations elsewhere in the Keys have been replaced by valleys and random peaks. Orange is the dominant colour at Texas Rock coming from the numerous orange elephant ear coral, orange crinoids and orange ball sponges. Large parts of coral, vertical at places, create overhangs, small grotto's and spectacular swimthroughs. Jacks, barracuda, sharks, jewfish and many well known tropical fish are common along the site.
