Horseshoe Reef is a ten to fifteen foot high horseshoe shaped ledge, rising from a sixty feet deep sandy floor to the top of the ledge. At ten miles south of Palm Beach Inlet and roughly one mile northeast of the Lake Worth Pier it is a reef which is not easily accessible from the place where most dive boats leave. Although it is one of the less frequented reefs in the Palm Beach area it is very suitable for novice divers.

The ledge, sometimes referred to as Horseshoe Ledge, is covered in mainly soft corals, algae and gorgonians. Several holes, overhangs and cracks create many opportunities to find lobsters, moray eels and crabs. Hawksbill and loggerhead turtles are very common, especially during summer, but remember to leave them in piece as there are high penalties for harassing them.
