Conch Reef is a horseshoe shaped reef known to be deeper than most reefs around Islamorada. At 6 miles south of Tavern Key next to Little Conch Reef it is one of the best developed coral systems in the Florida Keys. Its name is coming from the large numbers of Queen Conch that inhabit this sandy area. There are walls going down to 120 feet, but also shallower areas are well maintained with beautiful coloured coral and ever changing underwater landscapes.
