Breakers Reef is a two mile long ledge decorated with the best samples of soft corals.

Name Dive Site:Breakers Reef or Breakers Ledge
Depth: 29-59ft (9-18m)
Accessibility: Boat, Live-aboard
Specifications:

Breakers Reef or Breakers Shallow is according to many boat owners one of the best reefs in the Palm Beach area. It is a five to fifteen foot high ledge packed with marine and coral life running north to south for about two miles. It is located three miles south of Palm Beach Inlet right in front of a luxury hotel named Breakers Hotel, hence its name.

Sea fans, barrel sponges and gorgonians brilliantly decorate the ledge, creating a great area for wide angle photographers. There used to be a seven foot high coral encrusted statue of King Neptune, but it has recently been removed. A strong ocean current often prevails and creates a great drift dive along this ledge where barracuda and sea fans can be seen floating in the current. Some of the other inhabitants are batfish, sea turtles, octopus, stargazers, puffers, invertebrates, sharks and scorpion fish. It is a dive site which is never the same and can be done over and over again.
