Seven groups of 4-foot wide steel towers were welded to the Soule Barge's deck before she was deployed as an artificial reef in April 1992. The barge flipped during descent, landing upside down on the tower section in 82 feet of water. The sheltered network of steel provides an excellent lair for grouper. The 140-foot structure rises 15 feet.
Location: Situated in artificial reef site #l5, which is 5.3 miles on a 150 degree course from sea buoy.
